When life feels overwhelming, you may try to think your way through every problem—but overthinking often leaves you feeling even more disconnected, exhausted, and stuck. Together, we’ll help you get out of your head and reconnect with your emotions in a way that feels safe and gentle. We’ll explore the strategies that once protected you, but may now be keeping you stuck. In this way, with great care, we will work through challenging situations, experiences of trauma, relationship stressors, and more.
I primarily use AEDP, a modality that helps heal attachment wounds by undoing one’s sense of aloneness in the face of difficulty. I also use IFS and DBT to help you build self-understanding, process emotions, and develop practical coping skills. I currently have openings and welcome you to reach out for a consultation.
Q & A
Describe Your Counseling Style
My style is warm, gentle, and non-judgmental. I aim to co-create a therapeutic relationship that feels safe and affirming by slowing down, staying present and meeting all parts of you with curiosity and grace. I practice attunement not only to your words, but how you are saying them and what your body is communicating, while staying attuned to my own experience as the therapist. I like to imagine that therapy feels like us walking together, shoulder-to-shoulder, looking with gentle curiosity at the parts of you in pain to help you process those parts into a more integrated, fuller self.
Have You Been in Therapy Yourself?
Yes! In fact, I have been in therapy for most of my adolescent and adult life. While this isn’t the case for everyone, I have found that engaging in therapy consistently – regardless of what my life, relationships, family, and stressors look like at the time–has helped me to understand myself better so I can in turn understand partners, family, and my community better. I have the gift of receiving AEDP therapy myself, as a client, and have experienced immense growth and healing from this modality. I am so excited to help others hopefully have a similar experience.
